Halloween Songs

We are getting right into the Halloween swing!  Today we learned about a cool song called 'C'est l'halloween' by Matt Maxwell.  I am posting it here so that you and your child can listen to it together at home.

We also acted out the following song in a dark corner of our classroom.  The kids really enjoyed it.

Fall Words

Check out our new vocabulary set.  Fall is so much fun in kindergarten!

Oooooey Gooooey Spiders

We got slimy today in kindergarten!  First, we mixed red and yellow to make orange for what will become an awesome pumpkin craft.

Next we used black paint to create the most adorable hand print spiders. Halloween has definitely arrived in our kindergarten classroom!

Learning our Numbers!

Today we used our class parachute to work on number recognition in French.  Could you identify a number (IN FRENCH!) with your eyes closed?  We can!!

Bonus Pics: Check out the structure that these cuties built last week!  I've never seen anything like it.  It was wobbling in the wind and yet the kids just kept adding blocks until they'd used them all!.  They eventually got to knock it over on purpose. Amazing!

♫ Where Do You Start Your Letters?♫

Here is the printing song (from Handwriting Without Tears) that we have been using to remind us to always start printing our letter at the top:

Music and Turkeys

We had our first visit with our TIA artist, Madame Gaby, and it was a lot of fun. We learned about improvising and communicating with our bodies.  We each got to make up a dance move that went with our name and we learned the moves of all of our friends.

We are also working on a special Thanksgiving craft that involves potatoes, feathers and foam.  We will be finishing them up tomorrow so that we can bring them home.

Peek at Our Week (So Far)

Hello kindergarten families!  It's been an eventful and exciting week so far.  We've done math centres,  printing practice, show-and-tell and we've begun our Thanksgiving festivities (gobble, gobble). Our T.I.A. artist was a no-show today but we'll post pictures of our little artists in action once we have them.

These little puzzle masters were cheering each other on whenever they found a piece!

These cuties were 'reading in a row'

We danced to "Where Do You Start Your Letters?"
